Owana Hatcher

Mrs. Owana Hatcher, 78, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 29th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Mr. T.J. Jennings officiating. Interment will be in Mars Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hatcher was born February 22nd, 1933 in Winston County. She was the retired owner of Stallo Grocery, and a member of Plattsburg Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sambo Hatcher, a son, Paul Hatcher, and her parents, Warren Levi Deweese and Nancy Blount. She is survived by her sons, David (Diane) Hatcher, of Philadelphia, and Barry Hatcher, of Noxapater; a brother, Warren Lee Deweese, of Noxapater; 7 grandchildren, Leigh Ann White, Lindsey Joiner, Josh Hatcher, Paul David Hatcher, John Hatcher, Duey Hatcher, and Katy Hatcher; and 8 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Roy White, William White, Josh Hatcher, Paul David Hatcher, John Hatcher, Duey Hatcher, Charlie Mac Joiner, and Rusty Suttle. Memorials may be made to Blair E.
