Peggy B. Stubbs

Mrs. Peggy Bouchillon Stubbs went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2012. Born July 27, 1936, in Winston County, MS, to Sara and Cecil Bouchillon, she is survived by her husband, Bobby E. Stubbs of Louisville; two daughters, Shari Hoopes (Gary) of The Woodlands, TX, and Sara Townsend (Brady) of Maui, Hawaii, and one granddaughter, Charner Ann Hoopes of The Woodlands, TX; a sister, Sara Roberts (Roy) of Louisville, MS; and a brother, Cecil Bouchillon (Dora) of Oxford, MI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Growing up, her parents lived in Louisville, Memphis,TN, Cleveland, OH, and the Detroit, MI area. She graduated from high school from Hamtramck, MI High School in 1954. Peggy met her husband in May 1959, and they were married in October, 1959, in Louisville, where they lived until Bobby accepted employment with Shell Oil Company in New Orleans. During his employment with Shell, they lived in New Orleans (where their two daughters were born), in Tulsa, OK, and Kingwood, TX. During his employment with Shell, Peggy was a stay home mother and wife. Upon his retirement in April 1997, they returned to Louisville. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed doing things with her family and friends. She was active member of Poplar Flat Baptist Church and was very involved in the Senior Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 16, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Gayle Pope and Rev. Jonathan Peeples officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Porter Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Roberts, Steve Roberts, Don Goodwin, Gene Estes, and Dan Stubbs. Memorials may be made to Poplar Flat Baptist Church, P. O. Box 684, Louisville, MS, 39339.
