Bobby D. Kennedy

Mr. Bobby Doyle Kennedy, 69, died Sunday, December 15, 2013, at his home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Dec. 18th, at First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Scott Phillips and Rev. Owen Gordon, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Porter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Bobby was born October 13, 1944, in Louisville. He was a graduate of Louisville High School, and was a supervisor for Taylor Machine Works. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ina Gersel Files and Robert Leland Kennedy. Bobby was survived by his wife, Sharon McGee Kennedy; two daughters, Sara Elizabeth (Fred) Roberts of Simpsonville, SC, and Mary Margaret (Carl) Hensley of Wilmington, NC; two sisters, Doris Zane Gordon of Louisville, and Mary Nell Furr of Biloxi, MS; a brother, Hamlet Kennedy of Louisville; and two grandchildren, Jackson Kennedy Roberts and Miles Carson Roberts. Pallbearers are Stuart Ballew, Stephen Brown, Glenn Cagle, Freddy Eaves, Chris Parker, and Ronnie Reid. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Palmer Home for Children.
