Susan McMillin Lawson

Mrs. Susan McMillin Lawson, 56, died Thursday, February 13, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 15th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Porter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.     Mrs. Lawson was born May 2, 1957, in Louisville, MS. She was a 1974 graduate of Winston Academy, a graduate of Mississippi University for Women, and received her nursing degree from the University Medical Center. She was employed with Sta-Home Hospice, and was a member of First Baptist Church.   She was preceded in death by her parents, James R. & Barbara McMillin; a sister, Julie McMillin Sloan; and her grandparents, Marie Loden, Gaines Loden, and Burris William & Mattie Rene McMillin; and her first husband, Dr. Carey Wise.      She is survived by three children, Barbara Lawson of Louisville, Kirk Lawson of Louisville, and Christopher Lawson of Kilmichael; and their father, Roger Lawson; and a brother, Jamie (Lisa) McMillin.   Pallbearers will be Jonathan McMillin, Daniel McMillin Parker, Jay McMillin, Paul McMillin, Melvin Chase, and Britt Hamill.   Memorials may be made to the Mississippi Special Olympics, 15 Olympic Way, Madison, MS, 39110, www.specialolympicsms.org .
