Mrs. Lois Cole Barnes, 94, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Throughout her life she possessed a true servant’s heart and was known for loving her God, family, church and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Spinks Barnes; her parents, Winnie Cole Holder and Grady Cole; and 9 siblings. Mrs. Barnes is survived by her daughter, Jimmie Lou Reed and husband, Jimmy Ray Reed of Louisville, Mississippi; and her son, Harry Barnes and wife, Stacy Barnes of Shawnee, Kansas. Lois has 6 grandchildren: Kim Reed Lee and husband, Benny; Gina Reed Mireles and husband, Paul; Beth Reed-Richardson and husband, Jay; Rome Barnes and wife, Valerie; Hud Barnes and wife, Ana; and Cole Barnes. She also has 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren: Carolyn Richardson and husband, Chris; Michael Lee and wife, Kelley; Rayben Lee; Brooke Mireles; Reed Mireles; Christa Mireles; Austin Mireles; Dawson Barney; Ian Barnes; Kelsey Barnes; Bryana Barnes; Kaydon Lee; and Austin Lee. A loving family including: Cheryl and Ross Calhoun, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers: Rome Barnes, Hud Barnes, Cole Barnes, and Michael Lee. Honorary Pallbearers: Buster Moody and Danny “Moe” Yarbrough Visitation will be Sunday, May 25, 2014, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at First Apostolic Church at 115 E. John C. Stennis Dr., Louisville, MS. Brother Jimmy Flake will be officiating with a welcoming and prayer from Pastor Commer and Brother Halfacre. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
