Marion Richard "Bud" Foster

Mr. Marion Richard “Bud” Foster, 87, died Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Choctaw Regional Medical Center in Ackerman, MS. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 14th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. the funeral home. Interment will be in Springfield Memorial Park in Springfield, Oregon. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Foster was born March 11, 1929, in Merced, California. Bud was a champion High School State basketball and long distance runner. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, having served in Korea and was a member of the American Legion. He was a pilot enthusiast, an airplane mechanic, and an EAA Airplane builder. He retired from Georgia Pacific International in Brazil (1969 – 1973) and Louisville Plywood Supervisor for 25 + years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, a volunteer carpenter for Habitat for Humanity, and served on mission trips to Mexico to build medical clinics. Bud was truly a loving, and dedicated Christian, citizen, and family man who often joked that he could go to the grave with his head held high for having supported, by the grace of God, a lot of people during his lifetime. His favorite Bible verses were Mark 8:36 - “What does it profit a man if he should gain the whole world and yet lose his own soul?” and Song of Solomon 6:3 - “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine”. Bud will be sorely missed by those who knew him. Via com dias/Go with God Bud. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Mae Woodard Foster and Milton Glenn Foster; a brother, Jerry Foster; aunts, Edna (George) Bennett, Edna (Harry) Stammerjohn, Allegra (Ed) Harris, and Doris (Ralph) Bentley; niece & nephews, Carol & Bob Foster, and William “Chip” Oleachia; and cousins, Leola, Sedrick, & Harold Stammerjohn. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bethel Charlone Foster of Louisville; one daughter, Koreena Jones of Louisville; two sons, Allan Foster of Mitchell, IN, and Flint Douglas Foster of Portland, OR; one sister, Barbara Karlstron of Fairview, OR, and her children, Jimmy, Shelly, & Debbie; one brother, Carl Foster of Centralia, WA, and his children, Sherry & Bruce Foster; three grandchildren, Phillip (Christy) Forsythe, Heather (Adrian) Benson, and Mary Rose (Joshua) Keith; and great grandchildren, Noah, Savannah, & Jayce Benson, Ashur Keith, Kimmi & Gage Forsythe, and Conner Bennett; ; Brother-in-law, Douglas (Julie) and children, Wendy, Leah, Liz, and Rebecca; and sister-in-law, Dolores Foster and children, Julie, Clayton, Mark, & Kent.
