Anna Jean Allen

Mrs. Anna Jean Watson Allen, 91, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, MS. Jean was born September 21, 1928, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was a graduate of East Central Community College and the University of Mississippi. She served as the kindergarten director at First Baptist Church in Holly Springs, MS, and taught school at Marshall Academy, Holly Springs, and Louisville Elementary School. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Louisville. She was a member of the Mississippi Poetry Society, the Southern Poetry Association, Kappa Delta Pi, and the Louisville Lions Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Era Jones Watson and two sisters, Mary Alice West and Bobbie Pearson. She is survived by her husband, Walter L. Allen, Sr. of Louisville; two sons, Walter (Lynn) Allen, Jr. of Louisville, and David (Debbie) Allen of Florence, MS; her grandchildren, Jennifer Allen, Jonathan (Wynne) Allen, Joshua (Kristen) Allen, and Joseph Allen; and four great grandchildren, Cormac, Vera, Arthur, and Amelia; and a sister, Linda Eaves Walker of Starkville, MS. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Louisville, or the Gideons. Funeral Homes have been advised to keep visitations, funerals, and memorial services to the smallest gathering of immediate family members only. Please keep these families in your prayers. and may God bless us all. ONLY 10 PERSONS MAY ATTEND, BASED ON GOVERNOR'S ORDER. In lieu of this, on Tuesday there will be a private graveside service with just immediate family.
