Bettie Hindman Miles

Mrs. Bettie Jo Hindman Miles, 93, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 25th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Mayo officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Murphy Creek Cemetery. 

Bettie was born March 17, 1931, in Winston County, to Prentiss Edward and Nora Jenkins Hindman. She was a graduate of Bond High School. Bettie married Newton Eldredge Miles, and they moved to California, where he was in the service. They lived there for nearly 72 years, where Bettie worked as an accountant for many years for the Wonder Bread Company. Bettie moved back to Louisville 2 years ago to be near family. She was blessed with a large extended family, with many nieces, nephew, and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Eldredge Miles; her parents; and a brother, Bobby Hindman. 

Bettie is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Pallbearers will be Perry Hindman, Kevin Hindman, Kyle Hindman, Patrick Hindman, Pete Hindman, and Jay Bowman. 

Memorials in Bettie’s memory may be made to Murphy Creek Cemetery Fund.
