Ms. Betty Joyce Shaw, 90, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 26th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Mayo and Mr. Benny Cherry officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Betty was born April 23, 1936, in Louisville, MS. A lifelong resident of Louisville, Betty graduated from Louisville High School. She was employed by Angelica and Kellwood. Betty had a knack for growing flowers and vegetables and was known for her cathead biscuits and gravy and “candy Pie”. One of her favorite pastimes was riding her zero-turn mowers, which she did the week before her death. Betty loved her cats and dogs and had many of both that she cherished through the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Spiva and L. V. Wylie Shaw; and three brothers, Ray “Bo” Shaw, James Curtis Shaw, and Spiva Shaw.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Shaw of Louisville, and Kathleen Shaw Nowell of Ridgeland, MS; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jim Eaves, Scott Dalton, Joseph Gill, Johnny Johnson, Delbert Shaw, and Ricky Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Wylie Young and Bruce Shaw.

The family wishes to thank all the family and friends for the prayers and support. Betty loved you all.
