Mr. Bobby Ray Hitt, 72, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at his home in Preston, MS. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 10th, at Hopewell Baptist Church in Little Rock, MS, with Rev. Matthew Hitt and Rev. Jerry Lundy officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Interment will be in Hopewell Baptist Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Bobby was born July 15, 1950, in Picayune, MS. He graduated from Beulah Hubbard High School, and was a truck driver for Miller Transport for 42 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Geraldine Viverette Hitt and Jesse Bobby Hitt; his step-father Marzine Jones; one grandson, Kaleb Hitt; and his sisters, Alisa Gaye Hitt and Sherri Hitt Russell. Bobby is survived by his wife, Barbara Bean Hitt of Preston, MS; two daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Sharpston of Philadelphia, MS and Nancy (Jimmy) Higginbotham of Preston, MS; two sons, Matthew (Bridgett) Hitt of Little Rock, MS and Chris (Alisha) Hitt of Gardendale, AL; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and his aunt, Brenda Viverette. Pallbearers will be C.J. Hitt, Logan Hitt, Jacob Hitt, Gray Coleman, Ronnie Brown, Doug Butler, Colby Higginbotham, and Andre Triplett.
