Mrs. Margaret Claudine Hindman, 85, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 7th, at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Ken Cheek, and Rev. Henry Vaughn officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until service time at First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Claudine was born August 7, 1938, in Louisville, MS. She was a 1956 graduate of Louisville High School. She was an administrative assistant at the Care Center for many years; and worked at Bulldog Cleaners and the Winston County Library. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where she assisted in the church library, the church kitchen, and helped with the church bulletin boards.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Hindman; her parents, Claude Arthur and Peonecy White Cheek; and two sisters, Katie Clark and JeNell Doler.
Claudine is survived by three daughters, Teresa (Pratt) Sherer of Jasper, Al; Leah (Tommy) Boydstun of Louisville; and Cynthia (Bruce) Reynolds of Starkville, MS; her brother, Dr. Ken (Mary) Cheek of Northport, AL; her grandchildren Laura Sherer, Sara (D J ) Patton, Caroline (Logan) Fair, Marshall (Katie) Boydstun, Anna Grace Boydstun, Brooklyn Reynolds, Rankin Reynolds, and Rives Reynolds and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Logan Fair, Marshall Boydstun, D. J. Patton, Joel Logan, Jake Doler, and Rives Reynolds.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of The Carrington and a special thanks to the nursing staff and Dr Steven Brandon and Dr Travis Methvin of OCH for their loving care of Claudine. Their kindness will always be remembered.
