Mrs. Gean Burks Huntley, age 84, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, at Neshoba General Hospital in Philadelphia, MS. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 29th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Johnny Collins and members of Mr. Huntley’s South Dakota Hunting Club officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Campground Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Gean was born May 31, 1938, in Winston County, MS. She was a 1956 graduate of Louisville High School, and was later a leasing manager for an office complex in Buckhead, GA. She and her husband attended Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Curtis Huntley; her parents, Geneva Hill Burks and Freeman Burks; and one brother, Donald Burks. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Hugh Huntley of Louisville, MS; her daughter, Cindy (Richard) Grimes of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Grant Elder and Logan Elder Latraverse; and one great grandchild, Berkeley Latraverse. Pallbearers will be Mike Tinsley, Thomas Tinsley, Kent Stribling, Trent Stribling, Tyson Stribling, Scott Bounds, Dewayne Sharp, and Bill Rosamond. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Moody, Kip Turner, Ronnie Jones, Westin Swims, Tyler Hardy, Michael Kilpatrick, Tommy Williams, Thad Skinner, Steve Breland, Andy Breland, Shea Hailey, Plez Tinsley Jr, Paul Wilson, Mickey Montgomery, Chad Montgomery, Speedy Calvert, Terry Phillips, Andrew Windham, Jacob Ivey, John McNeil, Chase McNair, Dewayne Watkins, and Mark Krusemark.
