John "Matt" Conn

Mr. John Madison “Matt” Conn III, 62, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Baptist-Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5th, at Porter Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Matt was born November 30, 1957, in Houston, TX. He owned and operated Conn Construction. Matt was also a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church. He will be remembered as a good man (Yellow Creek legend) wo loved all his family and friends. He would do anything for anyone and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria Marie Russell and John M. Conn, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, John Long. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sherrie Long Conn of Louisville; two sons, Charles Wayne (Brandi) Conn of Mountain Home, AR, and Wesley Madison Conn of Louisville, MS; one sister, Jewel (Mickey) Pendergrass of Mountain Home, AR; two brothers, Russell Lee (Cindy) Conn of Mountain Home, AR, and Billy Frank (Tammy) Conn of Madison, MS; three grandchildren, Madisyn Conn, Colt Conn, and Brody Conn; brother-in-law, Howard (Deb) Long; and sister-in-laws, Cindy Collier and Vicky Long. Memorials may be made to Yellow Creek Baptist Church.
