Mrs. Kathleen Brent, 95, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at St. James Place in Baton Rouge, LA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 19th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Tommy Shields officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Brent was born November 21, 1922, in Louisville, MS. She was a graduate of Louisville High School, and attended business college. She worked as a bookkeeper for many of her husband’s businesses and later retired after many years as a bookkeeper for Sunburst Bank. She was a member of Louisville Junior Auxiliary and Louisville Presbyterian Church. In 2003, she moved to Baton Rouge, LA, to be near her daughter and her family.   Kathleen was happiest when visiting with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Brent; her parents, Mary Estelle and Earl Edison White; and two sisters, Earlene Pugh and Janice Black. She is survived by her daughter, Jan (Tom) Brent Martin of Baton Rouge, LA; three grandchildren, Brent Martin, Matthew (Marlo) Martin, and Caroline Martin; and four great grandchildren, Nathan, Vivian, Olivia, and Abigail. Pallbearers will be Mike Forster, Brent Martin, Matthew Martin, Stefan Black, Calen Edwards, Charley McCool, and Jamie McMillin. The family would like to give a special thanks to Tremeka and Domonique, her special caregivers and constant companions for many years.
