Lewis Bailey, Jr.

Mr. Lewis Bailey, Jr., 72, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at his home in Louisville, MS. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 20th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Becky Smith officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until service time. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bailey was born September 9, 1949, in Galax, VA. He retired from Taylor Machine Works where he was a machinist, and he was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; Mary and Lewis Bailey, Sr.; and three sisters, Marie Spruill, Elizabeth Bohannon, and Dorsene Bailey. Lewis is survived by his wife, Nellie Walker Bailey of Louisville, MS; a daughter, Rebecca (Tim) Mullins of Little Rock, AR; three sons, James Bailey of Okeechobee, FL, William Yates of Louisville; and Davis (Debbie) Yates of Louisville; one sister, Juanita Martin of Pickens, SC; one brother, Teddy Bailey of Galax, VA; four grandchildren, Christy Coleman, Lisa (Austin) Vernon, Macie Yates, and Nathaniel Stewart; and five great grandchildren, Rylee Grace Vernon, Jessa Vernon, Maverick Vernon, J.J. Coleman, and Dalton Coleman.
