Margie Stuart Kinard

November 20, 1946 — April 26, 2025

Mrs. Margie Stuart Morris Kinard, 78, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Hickory Cottage of the Winston County Nursing Home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, April 29th, at Porter Funeral Home, with T. J. Jennings officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Margie was born November 20, 1946, in Louisville, MS. She moved to Noxubee County in the third grade and later met the love of her life and raised their family there. Margie was a homemaker, a loving grandmother, and a member of East Louisville Baptist Church. She worked at the Pants factory in Macon, MS; owned and operated a daycare; and worked at Winston Academy as an Extended Care teacher, where she retired in 1993. Margie had been keeping children in and out of her home for over 45 years. She sat with the elderly and dedicated her life to helping those in need. While helping other was her passion, nothing compared to the joy that her family brought to her. Margie leaves behind a devoted husband of 60 years, Danny Alan Kinard. Together they had three children: the late Angie Disbrow (Mike), Beth Clark (deceased Joe Boykin), and Stuart (Angela) Kinard.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin Stuart Morris and Marjorie Harvey Morris; and her daughter, Angie Disbrow.

Of all the names Margie possessed, being called “Nanny” was her favorite. Margie leaves behind eight grandchildren, Lindsey (Brandon) Watkins, Channing (Tyler) Peebles, Will (Jordan) Disbrow, Daniette (Ryan) Hester, Sarah (Logan) Bell, Kayla Disbrow, Coley Disbrow, and Anna Kate Kinard; and eight great grandchildren, Lily Watkins, Kinsley Watkins, John Mason Peebles, Baker Disbrow, Porter Peebles, Ellie Watkins, Mayzie Kate Bell, and Cameron Disbrow.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Watkins, Tyler Peebles, Will Disbrow, Logan Bell, Jeff Overstreet, and Casey Smith.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Hickory Cottage at the Winston County Nursing Home, the Winston Medical Center, Quality Hospice, and Dr. Dustin Gentry for the care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Baptist children’s Village.
