Paul Darby

Mr. Paul Dewey Darby, 89, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS. Paul was born August 26, 1931, in Philadelphia, MS, to Walter Dewey and Aline Caperton Darby. He graduated from Noxapater High School, and received his B.S. degree from Mississippi State University. Paul served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. He earned his dental degree from the University of Tennessee in 1962, and practiced dentistry with the Veterans Administration in Lake City, Florida for 30 years, before returning to his hometown of Noxapater. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hodge Darby of Noxapater; three sons, Paul D. (Leesa) Darby, Jr. and John Walter Darby, both of Noxapater; and Timothy Allen (Deedee) Darby of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 21st, at Noxapater Methodist Cemetery, with Rev. Jeff Walton officiating. Memorials may be made to the Noxapater United Methodist Church.
