Mr. Stanley Arthur Salter, 61, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Baptist-Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 13th, at First Methodist Church, with Rev. Damon Williams officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Stan was born April 16, 1964, in Plattsburg, NY, to Stanley Alexander and Ruth Salter. He was a graduate of Sumter High School in Sumter, SC. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and his Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of South Carolina. He spent many years in Information Technology in the gaming industry in Las Vegas, NV. He retired and moved to Louisville in 2021, where he and his wife, Debra, were active members of First Methodist Church. Stan loved working on a cook team for the weekly Wednesday night fellowship meals and was a member of the Betty Appleby Sunday School class. He was an avid skeet shooter, member of Vegas Skeet and had accumulated many trophies from this sport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Colonel Stanley Alexander Salter III and Ruth Philipp Salter.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Quinn Salter of Louisville; a daughter, Sarah Salter of Little Rock, AR; and a sister, Laura Summers of Rock Hill, SC.
Pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School class: David Crowson, Tony Stanford, Tommie Jefcoat, Joe Morgan, Giles Ward, and Hap Hickman.
Memorials in Stan’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
